From the best ingredients, using traditional brewing techniques. At Klövsjö Gårdsbryggeri beer is produced with artisanal methods. All beers are made from scratch: Malt is crushed, cast, wort is boiled with hops. Fermentation takes from 2 days up to 10 for the strongest brews. All products are unfiltered and non-pasteurized, all to retain maximum flavor. The products are matured in the brewery's own cellar, in classic British tanks. The beer is then tapped up manually to be enjoyed at selected restaurants and on the home farm.
The beer project on the farm started almost around 2003 as a modern development of a Jämtlandic agriculture and forestry farm, with room for both tradition and new thinking and experimentation.
The first batch of light beer was brewed in 2009. The first strong beer - ‘Oppistuggus Gårdsale’ which is the brewery standard, and the christmas brew ‘Red Nirvana’, - where first produced in the autumn of 2010. The family business is Sweden's second Économusée.
The entire operation of Klövsjö Gårdsbryggeri takes place on the farm Oppistuggu, and its barn, built in the mid-1800s. The building has been rebuilt and renovated, and today it houses brewery, exhibitions, a shop and the restaurant Humleliret.
Experience a pleasant mix of Jämtlandic farm culture and history, the production of malt beverages, a touch of espionage - and Latin American cooking art based on local produce, all framed by lakes, blue skies and the beautiful Klövsjö mountains!
At KGB Économusée you’ll meet the Zakrisson family and get to know the fascinating history of the farm and the surroundings, as well as the one of beer! Immerse yourself in the history of malt beverages, bring some with you back home and enjoy others right where they were made.
