THE 2ND CONFERENCE OF THE ÉCONOMUSÉE NETWORK is only a week away and the last details are ready. We are looking forward to welcome you all to Bergen.
The conference is Monday and Tuesday in Bergen, but for some it already starts on Sunday with a visit to the ÉCONOMUSÉE Arven, Oselvarverkstaden, Fjordtønna and Tønnegården. Arven is located in the middle of Bergen center, and the other ÉCONOMUSÉE are in the outskirt of Hordaland county. You will get a typical homemade Norwegian lunch at Fjordtønna and a lovely dinner at Tønnegården. This day the Project steering group will start its meeting while the other participants travel back to Bergen by bus.
Monday and Tuesday are conference days. We will start at Hotel Terminus 08:30 with coffee and networking, one of the main objectives is to wash away borders and get closer together. During the first conference day we will hear from Carl-Éric Guertin, Director general, ÉCONOMUSÉE Network Society, about what has been achieved since the beginning in 2012. We will get examples from how artisans can collaborate from three different artisans and how we can build a stronger network. There will also be a speed-date session to bring artisans closer. After lunch we’ll have two exciting speeches from Susanne Poulsson about creative tourism, and the director of The Historical Hotels in Norway, Nils Henrik Geitle. They will also be part in the panel with artisans KGB Jan Zakrisson from Sweden and Don Sheehan from Atlantic Canada. In the end of day one we will divide the participant into eight groups and have a fruitful discussion.
In the evening (16:30) we will go by bus to ÉCONOMUSÉE Hillesvåg and then to ÉCONOMUSÉE Oleana, where we also will have our dinner.
Conference day two starts with a speaker Jason Bent from Tourism Cluster Magdalen Island. This day will also have plenty of time for networking, breakout groups and discussions. You have all answered a questionnaire about making the network stronger, and the result will be presented by Helen Conneely.
After lunch on the second conference day we will put focus on circular economy. We will get different speakers emphasizing this topic. At the very last session Project leader Kari Clausen and Carl-Éric Guertin will sum up and talk about further development.
It will be an optimal tour to ÉCONOMUSÉE Glassblower Stine Hoff, or free time to do some shopping or exploring a little bit of Bergen. In the evening we will go by the famous funicular to Fløyen, to have a look at Bergen at night. We close the conference with an informal and nice dinner in Tollbodallmenningen.
Wednesday and Thursday will there be a special tour to Sogn area visiting more ÉCONOMUSÉE, Aurland shoemaker and Cider House.
About the weather in Bergen – in this time of year we can expect everything… At yr.no you can have a look at the forecasts, but, today it is sunny abhorrent to what yr.no claims, so, it is not 100 % trustable. We hope for sun, but be prepared for rain and a bit chilly weather.
We are all looking forward seeing you in Bergen and wish you all a good journey!
